5 Things To Try If You're Stuck In Bed Depressed

Updated: Apr 4, 2022

You ever wake up, nothing has really changed from yesterday, but you feel like you're down? You can't point out what's wrong, but you just feel off? You might even feel like you're sad and there's nothing to look forward to?

It's ok, it happens. Instead of hitting the "Snooze" button or scrolling through social media (which might make you feel worse), try one of these actions to get your mood up.

Text or Call a Friend - Try not to isolate. Friends are here to help give you lift when you need it. Sometimes just hearing another voice will give you comfort.

Journal - Getting your thoughts out of your head and on a piece of paper (or iPhone notes) can be therapeutic. Let whatever comes out just flow on the page, don't overthink it. You don't need structure...just write.

Read Quotes or Verses - Save some of your favorite quotes or highlight powerful verses from your favorite books, songs, or role models. Having them ready can give you the spark you need.

Listen to Music - Having a morning playlist is clutch! Feed yourself positivity through what you listen to, especially in the morning.

Open a Window - Power up to take a few steps, open a window, close your eyes, and take 3 deep breaths of fresh air. If you're up for it, try to see how you feel after a quick walk down the street.
